Taysols sponsors Oxfam Trailwalker Team

Posted: 01 March 2007

Taysols have signed up as sponsor of the "Walking Boonies" Oxfam Trailwalker Team. The team, which includes Frances Crampton, Taysols Senior Consultant, will take part in the Melbourne Trailwalker on 23 - 25 March 2007.

Oxfam Trailwalker is one of the world's greatest team events, and it's also one of the toughest. The event began in 1981 as a military exercise for the elite Queen's Gurkha Signals Regiment in Hong Kong, and has since grown into one of the world's leading sporting challenges. The challenge is to get a team of four across 100km of Australian bush in less than 48 hours - and to raise money for Oxfam. Oxfam works in 26 countries around the world including Indigenous Australia, to help to overcome poverty and suffering.

"The huge mental and physical challenge that Oxfam Trailwalker presents inspired me, as did the opportunity to raise money for a great cause that makes a tremendous difference to people's lives around the world" said Frances Crampton. Taysols has a tradition of supporting good causes, such as the United Buddy Bears and Surf Lifesaving Australia. "As well as supporting one of our team members, Taysols is proud to support an organisation that does such valuable work, both in Australia and throughout the world." said Mark Taylor, Director of Taysols.
